The official blog of Adam Mattis
Welcome to the official blog of Adam Mattis. Through the years I have learned a lot, broken even more, gained insight to the world, and have built and tested some pretty cool things. This blog serves as a consolidation of those experiences for your enjoyment, enlightenment, and for my own record. Enjoy!

Dear Mrs. Douglas
Dear Mrs. Douglas, You may not remember me. I was in your 7th grade English class, many years ago. I was an unremarkable student. My writing was poor, I rarely turned in an assignment, I read none of the assigned literature, and my participation in class was limited to scribbling algorithms in my notebook.

What I Read in 2019
In preparing to write this post, I have come to realize that I slacked in 2019 in terms of reading. My reading list is much shorter than in years prior. Improvement opportunity for 2020? Certainly. Even so, I learned a lot of great things in 2019.

Every Business is a Digital Business
For several years, I have been warning my clients that Digital Transformation was not optional. Audi has accepted that challenge, and won. From text-based communications to video walkthroughs with service technicians, Audi is winning the customer-centricity game.

I’m Adam. I’m a Paratriathlete.
I’m Adam, and I am a paratriathlete. That was hard to type. One thing that many people do not know to look at me is that I am rated as 90% disabled by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Dachau: A Photo Essay
During an acclamation day on a recent trip to Germany I took a drive to the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial. There are no words to describe what I saw or how I felt, so I will do my best with photos.

The Modern Recession
As the pace of business increases exponentially, so will economic cycles, and our lagging indicators for recession are no longer relevant.

Objective Problem Solving
Often when something negative happens we are quick to formulate an idea about why “it” occurred. Unfortunately, our first thoughts are typically skewed based on our own bias.

I can disrupt any industry in one quarter (the case for Business Agility.)
I rarely make audacious statements, but I promise that I (or anyone else with fire burning deep in their soul) can disrupt any industry, anywhere where in the world, with verifiable results, in only a quarter. I know this, because I did it.

Reflection & Gratitude (the 15 most influential people throughout my career)
This month my professional career is an adult: 21 years old. Though I feel good about what I have accomplished, it is important to recognize that I didn’t do it alone.
